Roles:

• Lead the team in practice by developing a practice plan and communicating with the athletes each day
• Communicate with the Athletic Director regarding any team-related issues including but not limited to: events, transportation, schedule, athlete problems
• Instruct and coach riders at various levels in all disciplines of riding: Giant Slalom (GS), Rail Jam (RJ), and Slopestyle
• Communicate with Saskadena 6 regarding riders and passes
• Model rider responsibility on the mountain and in the lodge

Responsibilities

• Keep an accurate record of athlete’s eligibility, including both registration through the school website and academic
• Understand rider ability and provide a practice plan to support growth
• Keep attendance records of athletes at practice and meets
• Meet with the governing body of snowboard racing officials to determine meet dates and events
• Communicate with athletes and their guardians regarding practice schedule and meet schedule
• Attend and complete any training related to coaching and athlete safety
• Be knowledgeable about gear, including boards, boots, bindings and clothing, and be able to make recommendations to athletes and their families
